Pre-Order the Twill Ripple Cowl Crochet Pattern

March 17, 2026 //  by mezza//  Leave a Comment

The Twill Ripple Cowl Crochet Pattern comes with written instructions (downloadable as a PDF) plus full video tutorials. Pre-order for 25% discount

I designed this pattern for my “Exploring Ripples & Chevrons” course that I taught in Walton-on-Thames & Farnham.
After lots of enquiries about this particular cowl from students that couldn’t make the course and also my lovely followers on my socials, I have decided to release this as a single pattern with full video tutorials.

Get ready for a relaxing and satisfying project, featuring:
✦ an easy to memorise chevron stitch pattern.
✦ alternating row colours.
✦ my technique for carrying the unused yarn up the inside of the cowl to eliminate having to sew in tails at the end of each round.

In this example I have used DK Organic Merino from Zakami Yarns in the colourways Velvet & Kodama.

Tools & Materials for the Twill Ripple Cowl Crochet Pattern

You’ll need DK yarn in 2 contrasting colours.
I highly recommend natural fibres such as merino wool.

Yardage:
Approx 450m of DK merino, 225m in each colour.

Examples:
✦ 2 x 100g of Arcadia DK by Ripples Craft Yarns (2 skeins)
  ✦ 2 x 100g of Non-Superwash Merino DK by Zakami Yarns (2 skeins)
  ✦ 4 x 50g of Merino DK by Yarnsmiths (4 balls).

Hooks:
✦ 4mm, 4.25mm or 4.5mm hook or hook size that gives the correct gauge.

Other Tools:
  ✦ Locking stitch markers.
  ✦ Wool or tapestry needle.

Important : please remember your yardage (the amount of yarn you need) may be more or less depending your own personal gauge. If you are in the position to buy more yarn than you need, that’s always a good option!
