Parent & Child Introduction to Crochet Half-term Workshop – Farnham 28/10/2025

April 8, 2025 //  by mezza//  Leave a Comment

This workshop is designed as an introduction to crochet. I’ve developed a small project that the parent and child (9+) can each make, learning together.

You’ll be making a small bowl which will teach you how to hold the hook and yarn, chain, make a single crochet (UK double crochet), how to slip stitch and fasten off. You’ll also have the opportunity to embellish your bowl to make it unique.

Please read the next section carefully before signing up. Parents/guardians are best suited to determine the suitability of the class for their child and hopefully an understanding of the way I teach my classes will help you make your decision!

Class Structure & Guidelines

  • This workshop is aimed at students aged 9 and above with a participating adult (parent or guardian aged 18+).
  • No previous crochet experience is required from either the parent or child.
  • This is a 2 hour workshop.
  • For this workshop, I will teach a maximum of 8 students (4 adults & 4 children).
  • We learn through demonstration, practical application and the use of our class notes & photo tutorials.
  • I am not qualified to teach students with severe disabilities and learning difficulties.
  • All students should understand that during the learning process we make mistakes and it takes repetition and a willingness to try again in order to progress.

What’s included?

As well as the tuition provided in class, the course also includes detailed class notes with photo tutorials, everything you need, including hook, yarn, needles & stitch markers. You’ll also receive a login so that you can access video tutorials of everything covered in class.
