Try Thread Crochet & Make a Vintage Style Linen Lavender Bag – Workshop – Walton-on-Thames

This workshop will guide you through crocheting a pretty motif to embellish a handmade lavender bag. Learn tips and tricks to perfect this classic and timeless style of crochet using finer yarns and smaller hooks for a vintage look. We’ll also have a go at reading crochet charts.

A kit of materials will be provided, as well as detailed class notes and access to video tutorials.

Please bring a 1.75mm hook, sewing needles, scissors, and reading glasses if required.

Hooks can be provided if required, please make sure you select the correct option when booking.

Skill Level

You must be confident with basic crochet techniques, in particular:

• sc (UK double crochet)
• dc (UK treble crochet)
• slip stitching
• chaining
• counting stitches

This is a fun & easy project. To get the most out of the workshop, I highly recommend brushing up on the above basics before class as this will save a lot of time and means you’ll easily managed to finish a lavender bag in the session!

Cost

The course is £36 for the class and includes a kit with (almost) everything you need to make a pair of lavender bags.

★ Thread.
★ British lavender.
★ Linen/cotton blend fabric for pouches.
★ Ribbon for hanging loop.
★ Optional hook (please make sure you select the correct booking option if you want a hook).

Things to bring!

★ A 1.75mm hook – can be purchased as part of the course – I won’t have spares so please make sure you order one if you need one.
★ Scissors.
★ Wool or tapestry needle for sewing in ends + sewing needles for sewing the crochet motifs to the bag.

Class Format

This class comes with detailed class notes and pattern. I provide samples and practical demonstrations of all techniques. Along with the class notes, if the project hasn’t been finished in the allocated time, the students will be able to continue & complete their project in the comfort of their own home, with relative ease as there is are FULL video tutorials.
