Please complete the form to let me know your kit/colour preference – please provide 3 options in order of preference. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. See the video for more details of each kit.
I’ve listed yarn colour-ways and bead colours in the table below, in case you wanted to make extra matching sets… or took a fancy to some of the other colour combinations.
If I don’t hear from you before the workshop starts, you can choose from the remaining kits on the day.

Beaded Tealight Holder Crochet Workshop – Tuesday Evening – Walton-on-Thames – 12/08/25

This is a one off, 3 hour crochet workshop where you’ll be up-cycling Gü Dessert jars! By the end of the 3 hour class, you should have an attractive, beaded tea-light holder.

Skill Level

You must be confident with basic crochet techniques, in particular:

sc (UK double crochet)
dc (UK treble crochet)
slip stitching
chaining
counting stitches

This is a fun & easy project but we do have a lot to achieve in 3 hours. I highly recommend brushing up on the above basics before class as this will save a lot of time and means you’ll easily managed to finish a tealight holder in the session!

This is a one off course, 3 hours long, on a Tuesday evening:

Cost

The course is £36 for the class and includes a kit with (almost) everything you need to make a set of tea light holders.

★ Beads (please note, these may vary from images).
★ Ramekin.
★ Tealight
★ Elastic band.

Things to bring!

★ A 2.5mm hook – can be purchased as part of the course – I won’t have spares so please make sure you order one if you need one.
★ Scissors.
★ Wool or tapestry needle for sewing in ends.

Before the course starts, I will send details of the available kits and you can let me know your kit/colour preference. Colour choices will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Class Format

This class comes with detailed class notes and pattern. I provide samples and practical demonstrations of all techniques. Along with the class notes, if the project hasn’t been finished in the allocated time, the students will be able to continue & complete their project in the comfort of their own home, with relative ease as there is a FULL video tutorial. I am also happy to offer help via our Whats App group, up to 7 days after the course has finished.

Should you need to cancel, refunds for the course can only be given up to 14 days before the start of the course and are subject to an administration fee of £5. After this time, i.e. 6/05/25, I am unable to issue refunds as I have already committed to the hire of the venue. Skill Level

Important – Cancellation Policy Update

I have hesitated to implement this policy in the past, although it has always been in place as part of my terms & conditions. However, due to a high dropout rate for some of my recent courses, sometimes days before the course starts, I have been left in a situation where I am often not covering my costs and/or earning even a minimum wage. Therefore, I regret that I will now have to implement the policy so that I am able to continue teaching. Should you need to cancel, refunds for the course can only be given up to 14 days before the start of the course and are subject to an administration fee of £15. After this time, i.e. 18/11/25, I am unable to issue refunds as I have already committed to the hire of the venue and the purchase of all course materials and it doesn’t leave me enough time to find a replacement student to make the course financially viable. Of course, full refunds will be given in the event that the course is cancelled due to Riverhouse Barn or I cancelling the course. Thank you for your understanding.

x-st and dc combination – free crochet stitch tutorial

This stitch pattern combination came as a result of helping someone on Facebook trying the decipher some pattern instructions. The instructions turned out to be incorrect but in the process of trying to work it out, I came up with this stitch combination to demonstration how to make the x-stitch correctly.
